We miss them so much don’t we?
Any opportunity to share some space with them again and we jump at the chance. I know I did, when that “Google Alert” came my way.
There are pictures of Leroy all over this house, but to watch him moving, laughing, talking again.. my world fell back into sync, even for just a few minutes. I didn’t fall to pieces when the video faded from the screen. I’ve gratefully, moved beyond that place now, but it sure was good to see him.
I just wish it could be that easy for any of us to click on a screen and presto…there they are…back in our lives.

We leave footprints all over the world, thanks to technology: telephones that record our voices, digital cameras that record our every move, words we “print” in the clouds of virtual spaces we can return to again and again to read. What we hold in our minds and hearts – the memory of eyes meeting eyes, fingers touching, a particular laugh filling a room, a note written on a scrap of paper once left under a pillow, the feeling that swells up at the mention of a beloved’s name: technology doesn’t come close to giving any of those back.

Oh I do too! We have many home videos from over the years and I want to see them but I can’t bring myself to…I can barely look at still photos. Tonight the local weatherman made an on air comment to his wife and called her honey and it just sent me over the edge. Just one more hour.
