I”ve always had fun over the years, decorating a little corner of the house with signs of the season. I have flower lights and little frog lights that twinkle and I plug them in at the first sign of Spring. I have great turkey lights that take their rightful place in early November to mark Thanksgiving. Leroy had a good laugh over those turkey lights and my perseverance over finding them! The Holidays take on a multi-colored light assortment and I add Christmas cows wearing Santa hats, and blue Hanukkah menorahs. Fall brings out the leaf lights….you get the idea.
So last night, I decided it was time to plug-in the red heart lights. Valentine’s day is just around the corner. I haven’t put out those lights in 3 1/2 years. Cancer took my valentine from me and I haven’t felt the warmth of those red lights in a very long time.
And you won’t believe what happened when I pulled out a single heart light that is plugged into its own 9-volt battery; only half of it lit-up!! A half-a-heart…some things, you just can’t explain.

Just let the lights shine. You may find it amazing how a little brightness and joy can make everyone in the room feel better.

I still enjoy changing the seasonal, decorative bands that adorn Penny’s simple Mason jar. Just a little thing-but a nice remembrance.

How very true Laurie. We carry on with only half a heart. This is what cancer leaves us with………..still lifting

Leroy is the gift who keeps on giving. That half-a-heart works overtime for all of us.
I love that you have all those lights for the different holidays and seasons.
