Not This Time..
We’ve all had to add too many names to the cancer world ledger in the last few weeks. The echo of those words, “You have cancer” is deafening.
So a sigh of relief tonight. An exhale, after a young woman, a long time family friend, has been told the only job she faces after surgery is to heal. NO cancer.
It was the 800-pound gorilla in the waiting room at the hospital, but not any more.
Cancer wasn’t allowed in, this time.
Can you see it? The big red slash through the word CANCER?
Back in your box, beast.

Tara, I saw smtioheng about this yesterday when I went to see Wanted. I’m so glad that there is a benefit going on this huge for cancer. I’ve had family members with this horrible disease, but until it got me, I don’t think it would have meant as much. I can’t wait to see the results from this and hope that it really does help create some breakthroughs. My particular kind of breast cancer (triple negative) is one with the least therapies and the most unknowns. I’m not on FAcebook anymore, but this might be a good reason to get back on. Please let me know if there’s any way I can help you with this or be involved.Drea

I too have my own story, hanvig lost a male reproductive organ to the threat when I was young–it affects one’s life forever in ways I didn’t even imagine, thinking at the time it was no big deal. Thanks for sharing your story!
