It’s been a busy week in treatment rooms across America. For the most part, schedules have been moved and extended so that most cancer patients got their treatments ahead of the Christmas holiday. No one wants to feel the effects of chemo or radiation on the holiday. If there’s ever a time when a cancer patient doesn’t want to feel like a cancer patient, it’s now.
I’m thinking of them tonight.
I’m wishing them a peaceful holiday surrounded by family and friends and very little talk of cancer. Instead, I hope their appetites are strong, the music is seasonal and soothing and the love in the room is overwhelming. May they feel the warmth of hugs and kisses and have the strength to return the favor.
We could all use a little healing this year.
Wishing you all, the best of the Holiday.
