I think of Leroy often and how much he helped me understand the world of cancer and you have carried on in helping me through widowhood. I owe a lot to both of you..peace be with you Laurie.
Today I swung my leg over the top tube, I settled into the saddle and started off.
2006, two and a half years lost to cancer and complications. But today was a day to remember, a day to ponder, a day to feel gratefully sad.
‘But it’s still life and it’s a life worth living’ has never left me, has only helped me to hope.
Today’s ride was in memory and in honor of Leroy, one of the men that helped give me the belief that I could survive.
I will not ever forget him or that gift.
Laurie I hope you can find happiness in your memories of him today.
The Mighty Oak lives in our hearts as well, Laurie. We’ll never forget what he did for so many and what you do now to continue that legacy. Blessings and peace to you on this day and every day.
I’m standing in our Virtual Garden, Leroy’s Garden. It’s beautiful today. All the flowers, especially the ones he liked, are in bloom. The oak still stands.
Love and hugs on this day of memory and observance.
You said it best a few days ago Lor… That grief is well hidden! It’s what we do everyday, you can’t see it but only you can feel it! A toast to you, as a loving wife, friend and partner that has held it all together for 6 years….today is your day to let those flood gates open. I hope you feel the love that continues to surround you…
My prayer today is that you enjoy your memories and I’m sorry that it’s all about that now. Love, hugs and thoughts of you and a REALLY big guy. Laurie
