I owe a lot to both of you..peace be with you Laurie. Reply Brady Merrill August 16, 2014 @ 7:38 pm Today I swung my leg over the top tube, I settled into the saddle and started off. 2006, two and a half years lost to cancer and complications. But today was a day to remember, a day to ponder, a day to feel gratefully sad. ‘But it’s still life and it’s a life worth living’ has never left me, has only helped me to hope. Today’s ride was in memory and in honor of Leroy, one of the men that helped give me the belief that I could survive. I will not ever forget him or that gift. Laurie I hope you can find happiness in your memories of him today. Reply Dianne West August 15, 2014 @ 11:41 pm Yes, he was such a life force and I am so grateful to have shared time with him & my friends in Leroy’s Garden. Peace to you, dear Laurie. Reply Al August 15, 2014 @ 5:48 pm The Mighty Oak lives in our hearts as well, Laurie. We’ll never forget what he did for so many and what you do now to continue that legacy. Blessings and peace to you on this day and every day. Reply Maureen (Mo) August 15, 2014 @ 2:24 pm I’m standing in our Virtual Garden, Leroy’s Garden. It’s beautiful today. All the flowers, especially the ones he liked, are in bloom. The oak still stands. Love and hugs on this day of memory and observance. Reply Laurie Hirth August 15, 2014 @ 8:20 am You said it best a few days ago Lor… That grief is well hidden! It’s what we do everyday, you can’t see it but only you can feel it! A toast to you, as a loving wife, friend and partner that has held it all together for 6 years….today is your day to let those flood gates open. I hope you feel the love that continues to surround you… My prayer today is that you enjoy your memories and I’m sorry that it’s all about that now. Love, hugs and thoughts of you and a REALLY big guy. Laurie Reply Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
