A diagnosis of metastatic cancer is devastating.
It’s so hard to find the HOPE button when the doctor is saying things like “we found the cancer has spread.” “We can try to slow it down” or “There’s a clinical trial that might work.”
My friend heard all those things and his response was “If this is your A game, and it doesn’t work, why would I try the B game?”
That’s when you start thinking ‘miracle.’ Don’t discount it, because we’ve all seen or heard of miracles that are beyond science or medicine.
Sure, I’d prefer his doctors could visit the pharmacy and order up a drug that would attack this cancer and send it packing, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. I’m heartbroken over that, but I won’t give up. I just can’t give up.
Do I believe in miracles…YES!
